A poem dedicated to my aunt Susan. I hope she realizes one day how much I love her. |
| Why Don’t You See Me? I’ll tell you what you see, You don’t see me, Because if you did, You wouldn’t do some of the things you’ve done, I love you with all my heart, But you're not that smart, You think you have to be all these things, You just have to be you, I’ll tell you what I see, A person that can’t be free, That’s trapped behind a wall, Of self doubt, I can’t figure it out, You’re so beautiful and so smart, I used to wish I lived with you, It would have been too good to be true, But now I know it would have been wrong, Because you don’t even know who you are, Five husbands later, Your weakness is greater, Maybe someday you’ll know, That you’ll always have me, I hope one day you’ll see, You don’t need them, you have me |
