The Dark

the darkness within

Something dark inside me
Is eating at my soul
Piece by piece I’m bleeding
It's out of my control

It takes from who I am
It makes me hurt and weak
But all you know are lies
From untruths that I speak

It haunts my every dream
Even when I’m awake
Dying inside, but I can’t tell
Until it’s much too late

Emptiness inside me
That’s left from when it feeds
Makes me cold and alone
With all the doubt it seeds

I cut so that I bleed
The outside as within
Until the pain, it brings me back
Why is living such a sin?
