The Inner Light

The answers are within you and without you....

Dark clouds surround my heart
In this, my time of doubt
Looking up to question why
I see myself upon a cloud

Looking morosely down upon me
As he’s drifting off
I say goodbye to my former self
And something that I’ve lost

Because the world I’m living in
Drove my soul away
It shook itself of its earthly skin
To leave behind its disgust and disdain

I’m looking round at violence,
Betrayal, war and hate
The few who fight for peace
So early, go away

Then a blinding light
Lights a path I had not seen
I follow down then realize
The light had come from me
