A Poem I was inspired to write at work tonight.
My eyes can’t see the glory
That He gave us on that day
As the men of Pilate
Led our Savior far away.

They hung Him on a wooden cross
For all the world to see
They pierced His side, ensured His death
Before Mary on bended knee.

I’m sure her heart was breaking
As the life it left His eyes
And I know her tears joined angels
As they all looked down and cried

What a mother must have witnessed
On the day our Savior was entombed
But what a gift that He had to give
When He arose despite His wounds.

No, it wasn’t as we’d known Him
He’d become a spirit new
And when the people saw Him
There was just one thing to do.

They knew the Gospel must be told
They knew He had come to say
Remember The Father loves you
And this He’d shown them that day.
