What lies beneath

about being trapped inside yourself

I am suffocated
And it’s complicated
The tortured soul within
Hides behind the crooked grin
I’m stuck inside this shell
A prison most like hell
A beautiful soul in me
Waiting to be set free
I ache with every breath
Sometimes I wish for death
Do you hear my silent cries
As I hide them in my eyes
Like drowning pools they weep
