An Easter poem about the cross of Christ |
The Center Cross As I stood staring at the middle cross I had a sense of devastating loss I saw a tree stained with His blood Tears from mine eyes did flood There hung a special man With nails in his feet and hand I wondered who nailed him to that tree When suddenly I realized it was me. Beneath His cross I did stand With the hammer in my hand. When the ground shook fast I thought this man had breathed His last When the skies did darken The truth did suddenly harken Truley this was God's Son He died for what I have done In mine eye there was a tear For God I now doth fear It was for our sin and strife This man did willingly give his life. |
