This is just to say,
That there is but one slice
Of pie still in the dish.
What a shame--
I have never tasted
Fall’s fruit in this way,
So sensuous.

Oh, you haven’t had
A piece? Oh, neither have I…
Forgive me,
But I saw it first.

That your company was
A joy and a smile,
And lunch was delicious.
I am forever indebted
To you.

Forgive me,
But could you pay for
Lunch on our next visit?
Money is rather tight
Right now.
