For what purpose I know not, for far larger intellects than I have passed on without knowing exactly....

What is the nature of the struggle for purpose in life, let alone the cause of such internal strife.

For what is war but a conflict for understanding?

Ergo, is it truly the musings of a madman to argue that we are in a permanent state of war with ourselves, however passive, meditative and so far away from the front pages that war may be?
