At the Dead of Night!

Something is there.

Dark shadows were
lurking around,

Something was there
but they made no sound.

Step by step they came
closer to their prey,

But all the victim saw,
was a haze of grey.

Then a twig snapped and
they were off running,

The prey ran faster
but was not so cunning.

Soon it was rounded up
by the pack of wolves,

There was no more time
for it to make a move.

For it was already
dead.
