This is poem that I wrote called Regrets
When I was a young man, I made a lot of mistakes and really didn’t care.
But, now looking back, I didn’t have all that much to lose.
I don’t believe people when they say they have no regrets!
We all have things that we want to forget.

When I was a young man, I didn’t put much thought in my tomorrows.
But looking back, I wish I hadn’t wasted it on booze and Marlboros.
I don’t believe people when they say they have no regrets!
We all have things that we want to forget.

When I was a young man, it didn’t matter who I hurt or a friend I lost.
No matter how hard you try and hide from your past, someone is sure to bring it up.
I don’t believe people when they say they have no regrets!
We all have things that we want to forget.

Now that I am and old man with two kids of my own.
I’d give anything to go back and erase my wrongs.
Because it’s not only them that I worry I have let down,
Even though I have changed my ways.

Now that I am an old man, I have two precious grandkids
That ask me about the “Good Old Days”.

That is why I don’t believe people when they say they have no regrets.
If only I hadn’t done those things, I wouldn’t be trying to forget.
