Another poem I had to write for my poetry test in English, this time an extended metaphor. |
| Society is a cup of water set to boil. At first, the water stays all together right where it had been placed. Fire, the revolutionary thinker, persuades others to act differently. Slowly, one by one, many rise up to the top. Swirling, swirling bubbles, faster and faster, eventually become a miasma of ideas. Then, the fire is turned off, the bubbles stop rising, and the water is still. |
