| Walking slowly down The beach, I glance out To see The ocean water rising and falling With the tide. I Stop to watch the ships pass by as I Try to see The sunset burning down The sky. The moon replaces the sun by putting out A light of its own, yet meeting the sun's fate of falling From the darkness. My sight falling To something new, I Throw a random shell out Into the water, down Where nothing can see The light shining through. Can you see The sunset? I wonder, looking down To the water. It seems to be falling Into your arms every night. I Hope you don't keep it out Forever. Without the light, my fears come out From hiding. My strengths falling Out of grasp, I Can't seem to focus on what I see When all I see is light dimming down Down into a faint glare. The moon and the water put the fire out, Helping me see my fears falling away, as I learn to live in Light and Dark |
