New Life

I wrote this for a friend who was pregnant, and I gave it to her at her baby shower.

An old world,
A new life,
A newborn child,
Born to a special wife.
At this time of the end,
You are blessed with a gift,
To cherish, to hold, to love,
God’s creation,
Jehovah’s blessing,
A sacred new life,
A sacred new love,
Hold on tight,
Time will fly
Like birds in the night.
You’re now on a new path in life,
Stick to your husband
As he to his wife – cherish the time you have together,
It maybe few and in between long hours and days,
But Jehovah will take care of you all through the craze,
For you see your baby sleeping,
Dreaming though the night,
You know she/he’s worth it,
And you’ll put up the fight.
