A poem about a late night party in college town, USA. |
| Silent Pictures Cigarettes smoke and alcohol fumes Wall to wall people oblivious To the lights flashing Capturing the woman frozen on the counter She stares into nothing Enter a man Hello Do I know you? No, not yet Excuse me Oooh, that soft scent of rejection Voices hum, buzz and explode The psychological debris scatter and the particles stick In the frozen woman’s skin The camera flashes Exposes the naked eyes, nose and lips In a room, a generic couple A Woman and a man Two men Two women A couple argues You had too much You had too little You’re being a child You’re jealous Warning: second person pronouns hazardous to relationships. What is your name? Why do you ask? I want the name with the picture. Excuse me? Clouds blight out The eye of Orion, the eye of the hunter The camera follows the woman out And away from the fuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes Warning: Pictures, wordless sentences without a pardon. |
