Addiction

This is a poem about the struggle of being a recovering addict

What’s the definition
Of addiction?
Is it this I thing crave
That will one day drive me to my grave?
Or is it my obsession
Causing total destruction?
This addiction
Is my affliction
The cause of my pain
That courses through my veins
Eating me away from the inside
Leaving nothing to conceal or hide
Creating a constant fight
That I have to battle every day and night
