Letting go

It is about someone leaving and your still in love

I'm standing right in front of you with tears streaming down my face.
You walk away with no expression upon your face.
I know deep down inside you don't love me anymore.
I just can't let you go, even though it hurts me right down to the core.

I should lie and tell you that I'm happier this way,
but I have already dropped to my knees and am begging you to stay.

My heart is breaking and I know right now you just don't care
but one day you will look back and realize to me you were not fair.
I often wish I never came to know your love but it is clear your love cannot be undone
I wipe my tears from my eyes and tell myself a sweet little lie.
I know this time my tears won't make you stay
Just another lesson in life I will have to learn from day after day.
