A Peaceful Place

I am standing on the beach
The water rushing over my toes
Cool night air is blowing all around me
The sound of crashing waves and calling seagulls is all I can hear

I am alone
A single person in such a vast time
I have a reason for being here
This is my very soul, a peaceful place

The world around me is moving so fast
I feel dizzy
Looking at others lives, I feel like I am nothing
My life has been a dead end road

I have but one escape
This is my peaceful place
It is where I go to think and where I clear my head
The busy bees flying through life don't know what they are missing

I think about all that I love
The people and places that make the pain stop
It is so quiet that I can almost here their voices beckoning me
My heart cries out as I think of them

I wish for all to have such a place
A place for them to feel serene
To call their own
Oh to feel complete just once

So here I stand with the ocean in front
My life a little better
Thinking about the wide spread opportunities makes me remember
Remember I'm in my peaceful place
