The struggle for acceptance and to find solace in self-imposed loneliness.

What is it like to be loved
by the sun's basking warmth,
yellowing freedom,
the acceptance,
the worth I struggle for?
If I do not have light,
am I loved?

It's all good on the outside,
in the light.
What about permanent dark?
Climb inside these black walls.
Rest with me;
comfort me.
Tell me what it's like
to know you're free.

I danced to forget;
numbed eyes before regret.
Pursing lips yearned
to taste the sweetness;
purge obliqueness --
your life,
your love.

On the outside,
you look into my world,
while I float in space,
trying to spin free;
catapult myself
from this black
just to see your face.

You're light, and I'm fire
rejecting acceptance.
Restrained in my dark,
I long to be embraced
by the same one
we revolve about.
I need a constant in this night...

If I choose,
will you choose me, too?
