Last Goodbye

Life is so cruel, so painful sometimes...

In silence he watched a tear
That spoke of what was near
He whispered softly, ' I love you'
As another tear drops from eyes so blue
He would walk ahead, shut his mind,
Leaving his thoughts and heart behind
He dreaded the moment he'd say goodbye
And see her beautiful face one last time
But it couldn't wait much long
He knew for her had to be strong
So as he walked away he gave her a smile
It seemed to make her feel better for a while
And as he turned away he hid a silent tear
But a smile was all she would see, not pain , hurt or fear
