Nobody's perfect, not even me, and
I'm sick and tired of rowing up the stream.
This constant flux is more than I can stand.
I'm worn out living someone else's dream.

I believed you when you said we'd build our future
based on the goals that both of us had shared.
Did you stop to ask what really mattered?
Or ever think to wonder if I cared?

You pushed on with your plans without regard for me.
You thought me much to dumb to understand.
As your schemes come closer to maturing,
I will not hang around to hold your hand.

I've decided when that happens I won't be here.
I will turn this old rowboat about-face.
You can build your future with another.
Me, I'll be rowing to a different place.
