A bright burning Dart

When Darkness waved over
You came with a Light
Battling bravely
You fought a good fight

And the days turned to months
And the months turned to years
Dreams faded to Dust
And laughter to tears

You were my knight
With boyish charm
My safe harbour
And protection from Harm

Bringing me roses
On Nights dressed in blue
Stood sturdy in labor
Though you were scared too

Your encouraging hand
Stayed by my side
And I stood by your bed
On the day that you died

And now I remember
So many years past
When Time flew like butterflies
Fluttering fast

And the days turned to months

My dreams became reality
