My dreams have aspired to prolong my day,
so that some one else who dreams bigger can have their way.
My torment tells me that that I should be there,
while those who smile stroll about everywhere.
My guilt is my friend and deserves the best,
unlike those who pretend that life is cruel and so protest.
My misery tells me that Im less than whole,
that some one else with a little bit less stole the show.

I have been to the bottom and the very top,
and inbetween i have hit every stop.
So why does my shadow bother me still,
enjoying the moment like some illicitly cheap thrill?
My guilt is my friend and scares off the rest,
leaving me lonely and unable to rest.
My misery sits here with me forever content,
to steal my hope and every last cent.

I have seen the world throw me away,
while those who are smug are held at bay.
My unease tears me apart,
seemingly indifferent to to the pain in my heart.
Why do suffer at the hands of me.
clueless to hope and endless possibilty.
My misery lies down awaiting my return,
but a long wait I'lll have till the next turn.
