My Child

a mother's view when someone tries to take her child

My heart shatters when I think of what might be
The joy of my life
What will I do, where would I be
If ever I lost him
Though he has only been in my life a very short time
He is my world, he is suppose to be all mine
Now someone else wants to take him away
They don't seem to care that I need him to stay
The joy that makes me smile
To have the love of a child
I will die if I lose him now
You would be able to hear my heart shatter miles and miles away
To never hear his voice or see his smile
Or be able to tell him how much his mommy loves him now
There is one thing I want to say
With God on my side I know he will stay
They may want to take him from me
But all the angels around him will not let that be
Many tears I have cried and many more will flow
He may have been brought to this world by someone else
But his place is with me and I can't let him go
So for the guy who thinks my child is his
you need to dream another dream and just forget about this
This is goin to be a battle you will regret you began
Cause with God on my side you cannot win!
