| Grey Why does the world continue on its way while I hide here and contemplate the grey? Can’t it see me as I sit here alone? An empty shell, that covers skin and bone. A mind that’s blank, a duplicate, a clone. A useless mask from which all life has flown. What’s there to do now that my hope is gone? Which way to turn? Which way to carry on? As darkness calls, I’ll follow where it leads. Eternal rest, is what my body needs. But now the sun comes to disperse the grey. Restores my hope, keeps ugly thoughts at bay. My mind says ‘fight’. That’s not an easy chore, but I’ll toil on to find myself once more. |
