In the Name of the Rose

A short poem, dark and sweet.

Whisper sweet and whisper low
whisper things no one may know
keep me here, dark-saturated
thirst for your love, as yet unslated.

Whisper it in the name of the rose
kill the lights in the name of the rose

Sinking deeper, sighing out
vanish in blackness, cry aloud
words embedding in the air
breaking silently, forever there

Crying out in the name of the rose
Burning earth in the name of the rose

Wishing never moved a soul
as I can never make you whole
slowly blinded, one last breath
eternal life in eternal death

Die young, live forever
keeping time, we stay together
through fire and darkness and lives that we froze
do it all in the name of the rose
