Laid bare before you
Stripped away are the layers of deceptive garments
Lying puddled at my feet
Dignity, integrity, pride, self preservation
A tarnished bit of love shines through
Turn away
Look no more upon my nakedness
For your prying eyes are blinded by lust
Bitterly I shroud myself once more
Retrieving love softly given
So harshly trampled
Tucked away beneath dignity
To await one who can make it shine.
