Song I wrote after a 6 month relationship ended....
Desperate

Oh, the awful way that you recoil when I get close
and all these dreadful things that we held deep inside ourselves
We say them now, no fear.
No reason to lie anymore

You break my heart each day
With all the "harmless" jokes you play
And I make you deny
our love with every little lie

So tip the bottle back,
drunken, tripping, slurring speech
I just can't make good on any of the things I preach

And then he asked me, "what does that mean?"
"What's another word for desperate?"
Repetition makes an impression
so what's another word for desperate?

I won't be around here for too very long.

We argued endless times
but held what truly hurt inside
And we thought differently
about almost everything

And now on hands and knees
you're saying "I swear things will change"
but you just can't make good on any of your promises

And then he asked me, "what does that mean?"
"What's another word for desperate?"
Repetition makes an impression
so what's another word for desperate?

I won't be around here for too very long.
Sorry, I won't be around here for too very long.
