To Teach

A writing about my experience as a teacher.

To teach is to touch
the mind of a child
When to others what's taught
sometimes seems mild.

To teach is to touch
the heart of a child
To know it's all worth it
when one child has smiled.

To teach is to touch
the life of a child
To hope as they grow
they won't be so wild.

To teach is to touch
the warmth of a parent
So when they leave them
they can grin and bear it.

To teach is to know
that we've done our best
To show these children love
and the way to success.
