Thinking back on past regrets and relationships lost

You stand there quietly waiting
Always giving me your all
Showing me that you are the one
Always trying to prove to me
Trying to make me see the light

Lost within my own mind
This dark mark stains my heart
Torment fills my mind and soul
Never knowing peace, always saying no
Trying to fight back the tears
I see you fade to black
I see you walk away

I don’t hold you close
I don’t kiss your lips
I don’t tell you it will be okay
Forever alone I am destined to live
Forever in the dark, with no eyes to see
For I have rendered them blind
Blind to love and all that is good
As I slowly fade away, I think back
Think back on the love I wasted
Back on the life that I lived
But in my mind I was right
I deserve all that I feel, all that I see
