Love, loss, and gain

Mum

You have always been there to protect me
Guide me and shield me from pain.
You would tell me to take my umbrella when entering the rain
You made me laugh by the things you said
And made me cry when sent to bed

I would get so angry when I couldn’t find you
at your friends, to many to go through

When I was grown I flew the nest
You missed me much and came near to rest
Things didn’t go the way they planned
And left you feeling very bland

Eventually you lost your mind
Buried so deep and hard to find

It broke my heart and stole my soul
To see you mum so frail and old

I wished you dead to take your pain
I would cry so hard and scream your name

I thought Id lost my mum forever
Never thought you would come back ever

I’ve been through guilt and grief beyond belief
And now I cry a sigh of relief

Your on the mend, and doing yourself proud
The prayers you asked for must have been real loud

I love you mum without a doubt
I can now move on and let it out………………
