Teaching the Bourgeoisie

A criticism of Capitalist economy, along the lines of Marx.

Fend all the little children
from hist’ry’s Les Miserables;
(such scrolls begin a Marxist skin
embod’ing a “tempest-tost” mob)--

that part of hist’ry be censored:
of the poor and of the race
who over “Jordan” wandered
just to find some peace.

Teach all of the little Children,
the Constitution of “vie”;
theft and murder are only sin
when in the beholder’s eye

is found a colossal plank
while poor float upon the specks
or with the big ship sank--
not enough boats on deck.

Prove to all of the children
to have, of course, is more;
but to bring home the pudding and bacon,
first mold the steel for war.
