In a Dream

my girlfriend...well my ex

In a dream I dreamt last night
your face appeared

So sweet and innocent
as if you were an angel

I held you safe in my arms—
I never wanted to let you go

You almost slipped right through my fingers
but I caught you just in time

My alarm clock rang
I hit the snooze button a dozen times

Regressing back to my dream
I held you once again

In that one moment
I felt ultimate happiness

You were mine
and I was yours…

But as the alarm rang again
my dream came to an end

And I returned back to the harsh reality
that you weren’t longer mine

My happiness began to fade
I wanted to be back in my own wonderland

In my dream
I could do as I pleased

With my dreaming hands
I could touch your translucent skin

And with my sleeping lips
I could kiss you again…
