8 lines, fiction free verse: These girls won't cry over spilled milk, 12 days of Christmas

Tossled hair, freckled faces, worn a sunder by
Bovines -- they kicked their buckets, spilling creamy
White droplets -- they were swallowed by the almond
Straw mattresses -- they were trampled by forty
Eight pairs of shoes -- they were made of leather and
Cast iron, cobbled by tanner, struck by smith

Quitting time, apron-free, coifed, perfumed, plus one

Nine ladies danced, kicking their heels all night long
