When did the light in your eyes that once sparkled
Turn into faded dim orbs of gray?
When did the joy I once found in your smile
Become a feeling of emptiness?

They say love like life is a Journey -
We’re all on our way to and from somewhere unknown.
Such has been the journey of our Love -
From the most brilliant fire to embers now grown cold.

Another new year is now upon us -
I wonder what it shall hold.
I’m certain what I want and what it is bringing
Will be as far apart as our hearts, and our lost love.
