The world sleeps,
and she wakes―
to a lonely starless night.

An angel weeps;
as her heart breaks,
losing all the will to fight.

Her words unspoken,
truths held back―
no better than his lies.

His promises broken,
lost in track,
as their forever dies.

She misses him so,
and he did, too;
but his love is gone.

As he turns to go,
deep inside she knew―
it was over and done.

Now, she heaved
one final breath away,
bidding her last goodbye.

The last to leave
her grave that day―
a broken man, it was I.
