What would you give?

I wrote this poem after a friend committed suicide.

If you ever had a single chance

to tell someone you care

If you could take back any hurt

and only good times share

If you could light that someone's face

with just a single smile

Wouldn't life be worth a chance

to walk that extra mile

If you could give a part of you

to brighten someone's day

If the sunshine from your heart

could drive their clouds away

If all it took was just your love

so they wouldn't be alone

Wouldn't it be worth the trip

to give their heart a home
