The deepest violet
tints my arms
I've been fighting
all evening
hiding from the harms
that ain't receding

The most violent red
stains my teeth
I've been frightened
all day
Clenching my cheek
The pain just stays

Colors you surge
through me
but you help me live
I may be crushed
but I can forgive
This disease I'll outlive

A sickening yellow
strikes my face
I've been vomitting
for a week
Learning to embrace
my diminishing physique

A ghastly green
fills the bowl
I've been holding on
for far too long
Understanding in full
this existence is wrong

Colors you call
urgently for me
You weaved my existence
for as long as you could
But you're insistent
Take me the distance.
