  My heart breaks
  every time you're near,
  because you shatter me
  without shedding a tear.

  "Forgive and forget, dear."
  That's what people say.
  Remember only the good times,
  and it will all go away.
 
  A child will grow, and learn
  life's lessons are hard.
  A child will cry.
  As do I.

  My heart still quakes
  with unresolved fears.
  You have broken me,
