Written to fulfill Fundamentals of Poetry - Lesson 3 |
| Oh could we see, beyond the veil The life for which we do travail Perhaps the view disclosed would show The truth we sought, when young, to know. The precious wisdom Adam thought His wife, Dear Eve, to him had brought The fruit of knowledge, apple sweet, The wisdom God wished kept discreet. Forbidden fruit opened their eyes Leading them to create disguise Embarrassed by their naked skin They tried to hide the fact from Him. Shamed, the Garden God bid them flee Followed then human history And still the final Truth we seek Thru’ mirror dark we try to peek. That final journey we will take, Ultimately, our quest will sake And then the view disclosed will show The truth we sought, when young, to know. |
