A tribute I wrote for all the soldiers that now rest in the Arlington National Cemetary. |
| What words are there to define America's most hallowed ground? ...For me, I'm at a loss for words, Like so many other poets before that have tried. What words are there to describe A mother's silent tears? When she learns her precious baby has just died? Bound for home in a polished wooden box, Covered in our nations flag, Prepared to spend a long, long time Inside a quiet grave. Not a special book, Nor a folded flag, Will ever bring them home again... But leave them in a grave. Where valor rests-- Is where words run dry. Where valor rests-- Is where families go to cry. Where valor rests-- Is where our fallen hero's lie... |
