Beware of rebounds after a broken relationship - take time to heal

FROM THE FRYING PAN

From the frying pan and right into the fire,
a love lost but a new love lifts you higher.
Feelings hover inside, you erupt in tears;
you'll get over it though it may take years.

Fall off a horse, then get right back on
and prepare to face a brand new dawn.
A new love helps you for a little while,.
just let that new love make you smile!

The answer is not love on the rebound,
what lifts you up can also tear you down.
Let the healing come and take your time
to get over the old love, like I did mine.

Another love, then another loss to come,
then you think why she's just not the one.
You wonder if it will ever work out right
as you count the endless stars at night.

You say someone new will help you forget
so you run headlong into the fire, and yet
you've only added to the deep well of pain.
Same old story and the same old refrain.

From the frying pan and right into the fire,
a love lost but a new love lifts you higher.
Feelings hover inside, you erupt in tears;
you'll get over it though it may take years.

Beware the rebound at all cost -
you can't replace what has been lost.
