A 55-word story

Running, she tripped and fell. She braced herself for the impact, but there was none. Upon opening her eyes, she found that she had not landed, for there was no ground beneath her. There was only a vast, empty, dark space that seemed to go an eternity. There she was, not dropping, but floating.
