A poem about a girl running away with gypsies |
| They laugh and they smile, never thinking twice when I declare, One day I'll run off with the gypsies Little do they know that one day I'm going to Disappearing in the dead of night, I'll leave them all behind When I run away with the gypsies They'll all wonder where I went But never will they find: The girl who always smiled but was really dead inside I'll forget the stress of school, the pressure of perfection in my family And forsake the boys and girls who led shallow lives. When I run off with the gypsies I'll leave them all behind. I'll dance far into the night, and never stay one place for long. My habits will become wild and my spirit will be free I'll forget all there was and never would be When I run off with the gypsies My money will be made in the streets My home in the woods Never one item or lover will be mine for long. When I run away with the gypsies No one will remember me Never again will anyone see the girl who claimed She was going to disappear forever In the arms of the gypsies. ----Daylee W.------ |
