Hope

What could be
For what is wanted so.

Than joy
More heartache

More pain
Than comfort.

A person
Numbed by the past
Never looking forward
Goes through life
Empty
And longing
Searching and waiting
For that someone
To take away the pain
To fill the emptiness.

A person
Who has searched
Far too long
Now gives up
Never again wishing to be
Disapointed
Hurt
Crushed
And finishes their days
In silence
And darkness.
