A poem about guilt and the wonder of God's mercy |
| Amazing Grace How sweet the sound The sound of Your mighty Name But as my face Is on the ground I can't bear to think your Name I lay myself before You now Pitiful and weak Not worthy of Your mighty grace Nor good enough to speak I can't express the guilt I weep as I confess That though I've walked within Your Light I'm tainted by darkness Does Your Mercy have no end? I plead with all my breath Please let my crimes be covered By a handful of nails, and death Not worthy to even think Your Name Wicked and disgraced I plead for mercy Is the sound enough to right my shame? The sweet sound of amazing Grace That saved a wretch like me |
