A poem comparing the struggle of nature against the elements to an eating disorder. |
| Lights Pierce My Eyes Lights pierce my eyes, branches that reach Clawing heavenwards a place they beseech. Naked and barren trying in vain. seeking out heaven, They fail once again. Rooted in filth, stuck in the earth, Aching to feel clouds soft kiss to signal rebirth. Stick- like limbs, angled in pain From the wind's gentle caress it's hard to refrain. Screaming for sustenance deep underground Snake like tendrils, searching, desperate in need, Find at last food, but are unable to feed. |
