Suddenly my world fades into nothing Cold channels deep within He leaves me to myself

Sitting alone
Unsure of what to do
Waiting for my name to be called
Results, uncertain
A change in life? Maybe
Another minute gone by
Thoughts rush in my mind
Will it be a yes or a no?
What should I expect?
Will he be angry if it is yes?
Will he leave me?
"Lisa M---?"

I stand and follow a man
He is stern looking
I do not like him at all
He leads me to a room, it is cold
I sit in a chair, he speaks softly
Suddenly my world fades into nothing
Cold channels deep within
He leaves me to myself
I put a hand on my stomach
A tear falls down my cheek
I close my eyes
Finding out that I have no child
And that I never will

"Lisa?"
I open my eyes, the room is dark
He touches my cheek and wipes away a tear
"It was just a dream. I'm here," he says softly
He holds me close and I smile
I put a hand over my petruding belly
I feel her kick
Just a nightmare, nothing more
And in his arms I fall asleep...
