Sirens blasting mournful sounds
Emergency lights bouncing off the city walls
Speeding to save lives in our towns
These earthbound angels answer our calls

They put their own lives on hold
So these angels can save our butts
Even in the worst elements they venture into the cold
When normal people are out roasting chestnuts

These men and women wearing the star of life
Give up their precious time
To save a child whose chest has sprouted a knife
They do this without earning a dime
