Darkness...

This i wrote for my Dad.

When I look into your eyes,
I pray that you are seeing
Beyond the darkness that shields the light
Of love and all worth living.

These tears they fall, for all that I've known
I wish I could turn backwards.
I remember a time when you seemed happy,
All that is now behind us.

We fight to break the prison
That binds you in it's chains
As much as we try we never win
And this pain is still the same.

I wish that I could understand
Why you want to leave us?
I think about you standing there
And the hurt it stabs me deeper.

Why would you choose to end a life,
I don't want to say goodbye.
I want to scream to grab your hand
...And pull you from the side,

Please don't go away from me
Cause I know I couldn't stand...
For you to leave me on my own
Just a memory in my hand.!
