His ride, a dark blue, VW "Bug," is spotless and well cared for. |
In a quiet Kansas neighborhood lives an ordinary looking guy. He is unassuming in manner and well liked by his neighbors. He lives alone, his daughter and son are grown and on their own. The doublewide he calls home is well kept. His little patch of lawn is mowed, but there are no flowers growing, he hasn't the time or inclination to care for them. Flowers were his wife's thing, but she has her own flowers to care for now. His ride, a dark blue, VW "Bug," is spotless and well cared for. His tropical plates, reading "License 2 Chill," draw curious looks from strangers as he drives across the Kansas plains with the top down and "Cheeseburger in Paradise" blaring on the radio. Years in a dead-end job that fed nothing but his families basic needs, left him numb and empty. The creative voice inside muffled by fear of the unknown could be muffled no longer. He could hear the voice calling him to quit his soul-robbing job and follow his heart. Now inside his world you will find where the seeds of inspiration come from. Not exactly decorated for entertaining; his home is made comfortable by thrift shop odds-and-ends. Shelves hold the tools of his trade: the reference books, the magazines, the papers to read, the endless stacks of files. The muse that rocks his world and feeds his soul are in the stacks of CD's. The titles show an eclectic taste in the music that is so much a part of the flow of his creativity. His eclectic taste shows in his poetry as well. No longer afraid to try new things, his writing shows his willingness to branch out and to learn. Creativity flows into his writing. This unassuming guy is a well-known writer of poetry of all genres. He is respected among his peers and among novices alike. |
